Europe’s water dispenser market passed 6.6 million installed units in 2025, with mains-fed systems carrying growth across West and East Europe, according to Zenith Global Commercial.
Europe’s installed base of water dispensers passed 6.6 million units in 2025, up around 2% year on year, according to new market reports from Zenith Global Commercial.
The company’s 2026 West Europe and East Europe Water Dispense Market Reports show two regional markets moving at different speeds.
West Europe grew 3.0% to more than 4 million units, adding around 118,000 units during the year. East Europe grew 0.6% to almost 2.55 million units, marking its first increase since 2021.
The reports are available through Water Dispense Insights, Zenith Global Commercial’s water dispense market intelligence platform.
European water dispenser market reaches 6.6 million units
Zenith Global Commercial said West Europe has extended a five-year growth run, with the regional installed base compounding at 4.2% a year.
East Europe’s return to growth follows a five-year contraction that removed close to 180,000 units from the regional base.
The recovery in East Europe is stronger when Russia and Ukraine are excluded. On that basis, the installed base rose 1.5% in 2025 to around 1.13 million units and has grown 5.8% since 2020.
Zenith Global Commercial said it treats this as the “investable view” of the region because Russia has been closed to Western buyers since 2022 and Ukraine remains at war.
Mains-fed water dispense formats drive growth
Growth came from mains-fed formats on both sides of Europe.
Integrated tap systems were the fastest-growing segment in both regions, increasing by 5.8% in West Europe and 8.1% in East Europe.
Point-of-use systems rose by 2.0% in West Europe and 7.3% in East Europe.
Bottled water dispense grew 3.4% in West Europe, supported by Iberia, but slipped 0.4% in East Europe, where bottled water users continue to move towards mains-fed alternatives.
Zenith Global Commercial says its Water Dispense Insights platform tracks bottled water dispense, point-of-use systems and integrated tap systems across European and international markets.
Spain leads West Europe water dispense market
Spain is West Europe’s largest water dispense market, with more than 1 million units installed.
Zenith Global Commercial said Spain recorded its thirteenth consecutive year of growth and added more than 100,000 net placements in 2025 alone.
The company said this growth was driven by residential subscription models, including Aquaservice.
Zenith Global Commercial forecasts Spain’s installed base to approach 1.4 million units by 2030.
In East Europe, Russia remains the largest market ahead of Poland, Ukraine, Romania and Czechia. However, the Russian and Ukrainian installed bases remain below pre-war levels following the exits of BRITA and Eden Springs from Russia in 2022.

Regulation becomes a commercial driver
Zenith Global Commercial said regulation is becoming a commercial driver for the water dispense sector.
The company highlighted the EU ban on BPA in polycarbonate bottles and water-contact parts, which applies from 20 July 2026, with a use-up window for existing bottles to January 2029.
It also pointed to the Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation, which bans PFAS in food-contact packaging and sets a 25% recycled content floor for single-use PET from 12 August 2026.
A wider PFAS restriction under REACH is expected around 2029, according to Zenith Global Commercial, with operators already writing PFAS-capable filtration into specifications.
Revenue passes €2.5 billion
European water dispense revenue passed €2.5bn in 2025, growing faster than the unit base as price increases came through.
Zenith Global Commercial forecasts the European installed base to approach 7.5 million units by 2030, an average of about 2.5% a year.
The company expects West Europe to grow by 2.9% a year and East Europe by 1.8%, based on the assumption that the war in Ukraine ends within the forecast period.
Akos Petri, Managing Director of Zenith Global Commercial, said: “Europe is two markets with one name. One has compounded at more than 4% a year for five years on mains-fed conversion. The other lost close to 180,000 units to war and market exits and has only just stopped falling. Anyone sizing an acquisition in the East should be looking at the region without Russia and Ukraine in it, because that is the part they can actually buy.”
The 2026 reports cover 31 European markets across the two regions, sizing bottled water dispense, point of use and integrated tap systems by units, volume and revenue from 2020 to 2030, with channel and vertical splits and company-level detail.
