There are few people more passionate about water than Lake Hartwell resident and Co-Executive Director of Global Water Works, Frank Slovenec. Slovenec co-founded Global Water Works to connect water professionals and create a network with the mission to solve the global water crisis in this generation.

In this short Q&A we spoke to Slovenec about Water Quality Month and what it means to him.

Why is water quality still a topic of concern globally?

It is the most important resource for life

Because it brings much needed focus on water quality

What role does the water industry play in improving water quality?

Their role is significant, especially when they are all brought together to collaborate

What steps are you taking to help improve water quality?

Our community connects education, technology, process and the experts to solve water challenges locally and then globally

If you could change one thing about the way water quality is managed currently, what would it be?

Educate all people on the value of quality water and the need to use our water smartly.

What are your hopes for the future of our water sources?

That we turn the corner and everyone has quality water within close proximity.

What role do you think technology will play in securing water quality?

Technology is the key – second only to education.
