Trentar has acquired Nuove Energie, a supplier of filtration systems for municipal and industrial wastewater, and launched Nuove H2O as its global water technologies brand. The company says the new platform brings Nuove Energie’s engineering and product portfolio together with Trentar’s wider water business.

Nuove Energie has operated for more than 45 years and has installations in multiple markets, according to Trentar. The acquisition gives the group an established filtration business as it expands its water activities in Europe and North America.

Nuove H2O brings water businesses under one brand

Trentar says Nuove H2O will serve as the umbrella for technologies used in water treatment, reuse and resource recovery. The launch follows the acquisition of Nuove Energie, which designs systems for municipal and industrial wastewater applications.

Trentar identifies Italy as an engineering and manufacturing base for the water business. It also says the acquisition supports its presence in the UK and a direct commercial operation in North America.

The brand has already featured in H2O Global News coverage of India International Water Week, alongside other Trentar and Dorf Ketal water activities. That coverage described Nuove H2O’s role in municipal and industrial wastewater treatment.

Filtration technology targets wastewater treatment

Nuove Energie’s systems use Dynamic Tangential Filtration, or DTF, a process in which water flows tangentially across rotating stainless-steel filter discs. Trentar says the technology is used for tertiary wastewater treatment, suspended solids removal and industrial filtration.

The company’s product range includes Ultrascreen for tertiary filtration, Primescreen for primary filtration and Conoscreen for industrial applications. Nuove Energie also designs engineered systems for specific treatment requirements.

Trentar describes compact equipment, lower maintenance needs and long service life as potential benefits of the filtration design. The announcement does not provide comparative test data or project results to quantify those claims.

Acquisition expands international water presence

Trentar says its Italian operation will support engineering and manufacturing for projects across Europe. The group also expects the acquisition to strengthen its position in the UK utility and industrial markets.

In North America, Trentar says Nuove H2O will provide a direct route to market for its water infrastructure and environmental solutions. The company has not disclosed the financial terms of the Nuove Energie acquisition.

Anthony Dusovic, president and CEO of Nuove H2O, said the acquisition adds Nuove Energie’s technical experience and filtration products to the new brand. Further details are available in the company’s acquisition announcement.
