Singapore-based AI water technology company TeamSolve has launched Balibot in partnership with Balibago Waterworks, marking a major step forward in digitalising water operations across the Philippines. The co-developed AI assistant—built on TeamSolve’s Knowledge Twin framework—has already delivered measurable improvements in leak detection, survey speeds and operational efficiency.

Following successful field trials, Balibot is now set for wider rollout across Balibago Waterworks’ network of more than 80 independent systems serving nearly two million people. The launch coincided with the 31st Philippine Water Works Association International Conference and Exhibition in Davao City, where leading utilities, suppliers and innovators gathered to discuss sustainable, data-driven water management.

Balibot combines natural language AI and mobile-based tools to accelerate leak detection and maintenance workflows. The digital assistant helps utilities survey and record leaks twice as fast, calculate losses automatically, and capture full field data for improved visibility from operations to management. With reduced downtime and more efficient repairs, utilities have reported measurable revenue gains through reduced water losses.

Robin Wong, Chief Commercial Officer of TeamSolve, said: “As the Philippines seeks to improve access to safe and reliable water, our expansion highlights how AI can bridge skill gaps, strengthen workforce readiness, and enable utilities to leapfrog traditional digitalisation barriers. With affordable subscription models, local language interfaces, and rapid onboarding, Balibot offers an accessible digital companion for plumbers, operators, and engineers.”

Balibot takes its name from “Bali”, representing Balibago, and “bot”, meaning digital assistant—while also evoking Batibot, a beloved Filipino children’s programme known for teaching inclusivity in local languages. Reflecting this heritage, Balibot communicates in Tagalog and can be localised into Kapampangan, Ilocano, Cebuano, and Ilonggo. It also operates offline, synchronising automatically when connectivity returns, ensuring accessibility across remote regions and decentralised water systems.

Criselle P. Alejandro, President of Balibago Waterworks, said: “Our plumbers and pump operators deliver one of society’s most important services—clean water and sanitation. Balibot helps them do this better by guiding field work, improving data collection, and making knowledge accessible anytime, anywhere.”

Powered by TeamSolve’s Knowledge Twin framework, Balibot captures and connects field data, offering real-time guidance and linking operational teams with control centres. The platform integrates with SCADA, CMMS and GIS systems, enabling utilities to start small, scale quickly, and sustain long-term performance improvements.

Beyond Balibago, TeamSolve is partnering with Chemical Research Inc to expand distribution and support across the Philippines. The company is also collaborating with the Asian Development Bank on a pilot project in the Pacific Islands aimed at improving resilience and operational efficiency in small and remote water systems.
