  • StormHarvester, a wastewater analytics company founded in Northern Ireland, has appointed Colby Manwaring as a Board advisor.
  • Manwaring is the former CEO of Innovyze, which Autodesk acquired in 2021 in a deal valued at approximately $1 billion.
  • The appointment is intended to support the company’s growth in the United States and wider international markets.
  • StormHarvester says it analyses data from more than 400,000 sensors and detects over 10,000 sewer blockages each year.
  • The company raised £8.4 million in a Series A funding round in 2025 to support international expansion.

StormHarvester, an AI wastewater analytics company founded in Northern Ireland, has appointed Colby Manwaring, former chief executive of Innovyze, as a Board advisor. The company said the appointment is a significant step in its plans to accelerate growth in the United States and wider international markets.

StormHarvester has identified North America as a key market for its next phase of growth. The appointment follows an £8.4 million Series A funding round in 2025, which the company raised to support international expansion.

Former Innovyze chief executive joins as advisor

Manwaring previously led Innovyze, a provider of water infrastructure modelling and simulation software. Autodesk acquired Innovyze in 2021 in a deal valued at approximately $1 billion.

According to StormHarvester, Innovyze significantly expanded its international operation under his leadership and reached more than 3,600 global clients. The company said Manwaring brings experience in scaling technology businesses, expanding into international markets and developing software for the global water industry.

H2O Global News has previously reported on Manwaring’s appointment as chairman of the board at MentorAPM.

How the AI wastewater analytics technology works

Civil engineer Brian Moloney founded StormHarvester. The company uses artificial intelligence and machine learning to help wastewater utilities identify and prevent network failures before they cause flooding or environmental pollution.

Its AI wastewater analytics platform analyses data from sensors that utilities already have installed. It is designed to detect developing blockages, pump station failures and excess inflow and infiltration, giving operators better operational and asset intelligence about their systems.

The company said it now analyses data from more than 400,000 sensors across its global customers and detects over 10,000 sewer blockages each year.

Building a presence in North America

StormHarvester already operates in the UK, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand. It describes its expansion into North America as part of a wider international growth strategy. That strategy also included the appointment of Greg Brazeau as Vice President, North America, in September 2026.

The company said it aims to help more wastewater utilities adopt predictive technologies that reduce operational costs, improve network performance and help prevent pollution incidents.

Brian Moloney, founder and CEO of StormHarvester, said: “He has an exceptional track record of growing and scaling water technology businesses, and his experience of the US market in particular will be hugely valuable to us as we enter this next stage of our development.”

He added: “The US represents an enormous opportunity for StormHarvester. Utilities are facing increasing challenges around ageing infrastructure, environmental compliance and operational efficiency, and there is growing recognition of the role that AI and predictive analytics can play in addressing these issues.”

Moloney also said: “Having someone of Colby’s calibre working alongside our leadership team will help us build on the progress we’ve already made and accelerate our ambitions in this important market.”

A shift towards predicting network failures

Manwaring said the water industry needs to move from reacting to problems towards preventing them. “Across the water industry, there is an increasing need to move away from responding to problems after they happen and towards using data and technology to predict and prevent failures,” he said.

He continued: “StormHarvester’s ability to deliver actionable insights from infrastructure and sensor data that utilities already have is particularly compelling, and I believe there is a substantial opportunity to bring that capability to more operators across the United States and internationally.”

Manwaring added: “Brian and his team have built an impressive business with a strong technological foundation and a clear vision for the future. I’m delighted to be joining and look forward to supporting the company’s continued growth.”
