Kyocera Ventures has made a strategic investment in VVater to support water treatment and reuse applications across data centres, manufacturing and residential systems.
VVater has announced a strategic investment from Kyocera Ventures, the corporate venture arm of Kyocera Corporation.
The Austin, Texas-based water treatment company said the investment will support a wider strategic partnership with Kyocera across data centres, advanced manufacturing and residential water treatment.
Financial terms of the investment were not disclosed.
The announcement follows VVater’s recent Asia-Pacific and Middle East partnership with Ecosafe International, as the company expands its international water treatment activity.
Kyocera Ventures backs VVater water treatment expansion
The partnership between Kyocera and VVater is expected to focus on three areas of water infrastructure development.
The first is data centre infrastructure, including advanced cooling-water treatment and closed-loop water reuse for facilities supporting artificial intelligence and cloud computing.
The second is advanced manufacturing, where VVater systems may be evaluated for treatment and reuse across Kyocera’s global manufacturing operations.
The third is the potential development and industrialisation of The Shield, VVater’s whole-home residential purification system.
Kyocera Corporation, founded in Kyoto in 1959, operates across sectors including fine ceramics, semiconductor components, electronic devices, industrial tools and communications.
Water reuse targeted for data centres and manufacturing
VVater said data centre cooling-water treatment and closed-loop reuse will be a key part of the collaboration.
Water demand in data centres has become a growing infrastructure concern as artificial intelligence and cloud computing increase demand for compute capacity.
The companies also plan to evaluate VVater’s treatment and reuse systems across Kyocera’s manufacturing operations, where high-purity water is used in processes including fine ceramics, semiconductor packages and electronic components.
VVater said the strategic relationship could combine its treatment platform with Kyocera’s components, manufacturing capabilities and international operations.
Farady Reactor central to VVater platform
The agreement gives Kyocera exposure to VVater’s water treatment platform, led by the Farady Reactor.
VVater’s Farady Reactor technical data sheet describes the technology as based on its Advanced Low Tension Electroporation Process.
VVater said its technology has treated more than 4.3 billion gallons of water and has been deployed in municipal, industrial, food and beverage, resort and master-planned community settings.
The company said the investment follows a period of momentum, including recognition for the Farady Reactor from TIME, CES and the World Future Awards.
Companies cite water as industrial constraint

Investment follows wider VVater expansion
The announcement follows VVater’s recent expansion activity, including partnerships and contracts in municipal and industrial water treatment.
VVater said Kyocera’s investment will support development across global markets where water treatment, reuse and resilience are becoming increasingly important to industrial operations.
