Sensus International plans to acquire EYKON water metering assets, adding ultrasonic meter technology to its portfolio as the independent utility supplier expands following its separation from Xylem earlier this year.
The planned transaction will transfer EYKON’s water-metering business to Sensus International, with both companies currently part of the AURELIUS Midmarket portfolio.
EYKON, formerly Landis+Gyr EMEA, confirmed the agreement on 22 September. The companies have not disclosed the value of the transaction.
Sensus International to acquire EYKON water metering assets
The acquisition is expected to broaden Sensus International’s existing portfolio with complementary technologies, including ultrasonic water meters.
Sensus International currently supplies mechanical and static water meters, communications equipment and data-management technology for utility networks.
The company said the additional products will allow it to address a wider range of utility applications and market requirements.

Production transfer planned for Slovakia
As part of the integration, Sensus International plans to transfer the acquired assets into its manufacturing operation in Slovakia.
The company expects to reintroduce the product range to the market by the end of 2026.
During and after the transition, Sensus International said EYKON customers will continue to receive support either directly from Sensus International or, in some cases, through EYKON.
EYKON said it will continue to fulfil existing customer commitments during the transition.
Deal follows Sensus separation from Xylem
Sensus International became an independent business in May 2026 after AURELIUS completed the acquisition of Xylem’s international water and heat metering operations outside North America.
The business employs more than 800 people across Europe, the Middle East, Latin America and Asia and operates manufacturing facilities in Germany, Slovakia, China and Algeria.
Sensus International said its independent structure is intended to support faster product development and a stronger focus on international water and thermal-energy metering markets.
AURELIUS originally announced the acquisition of Xylem’s international smart-meter business in October 2025. At the time, it said the division generated approximately $250 million in 2024 revenues.
EYKON narrows focus after Landis+Gyr separation
EYKON was formed from the former Landis+Gyr EMEA business following its sale to AURELIUS earlier in 2026.
The company now plans to focus more closely on advanced metering, connectivity and digital utility infrastructure outside the water-metering assets being transferred to Sensus International.
The official EYKON announcement says the sale is intended to sharpen that strategic focus while maintaining continuity for existing customers.
