UK-based Evolution Aqua has signed a 10-year exclusive distribution agreement with Smith & Loveless Inc. for its Flocell XFM modular filtration systems. The Flocell XFM distribution agreement covers the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

Under the agreement, the systems will be offered to municipal, industrial and infrastructure markets across North America and Australasia.

Terms of the Flocell XFM distribution agreement

The partnership runs for 10 years and is exclusive. It covers two regions: North America, made up of the United States and Canada, and Australasia, made up of Australia and New Zealand.

Evolution Aqua described the deal as an international announcement for the company. Through the agreement, Smith & Loveless becomes the exclusive distributor of the Flocell XFM range in the four countries. The company has not given financial details.

Containerised modular filtration with open cell media

The products covered by the agreement are sold under the Flocell brand. Evolution Aqua describes the Flocell XFM systems as containerised, high-performance modular filtration systems that use open cell media technology.

The containerised, modular format means the filtration units are housed in container-based modules rather than built as fixed installations. The company did not give performance figures, capacities or project references in its announcement.

Target markets in North America and Australasia

The agreement focuses on three market segments: municipal, industrial and infrastructure. Each of these sectors operates filtration as part of its water and wastewater processes.

Evolution Aqua said the agreement will bring the Flocell XFM systems to these markets across the United States, Canada, Australia and New Zealand.

The companies and people involved

Evolution Aqua Ltd is part of the Evolution Aqua Group, which is based in Wigan, Lancashire. The group’s businesses also include Aqua Bio Science alongside the Flocell filtration brand.

According to Evolution Aqua, its announcement included comments from three senior figures. They are Nick Jackson, Managing Director of Evolution Aqua; Frank Rebori, Chief Executive Officer of Smith & Loveless; and Mark Hoskins, Group Commercial Director of Evolution Aqua.

The 10-year term and exclusivity mean Smith & Loveless will act as the sole route to market for Flocell XFM in the four countries for the duration of the agreement, the company said.
