AERZEN has expanded its direct-drive Delta Hybrid screw blower range with two models designed for higher process-air flow rates.
The new D100S provides flows of up to 6,060m³/h, while the larger D120S reaches 7,320m³/h. Both packages are designed for applications requiring oil-free compressed air at differential pressures of up to 1,250mbar.
Delta Hybrid range moves into higher flow segment
The D100S and D120S extend AERZEN’s direct-drive Delta Hybrid range into higher-capacity applications. The additional performance levels are intended to give plant operators more flexibility when matching blower capacity to specific process requirements.
Both models have an operating turndown ratio of up to 1:5. This allows airflow to be adjusted over a wide range as demand changes, helping operators avoid supplying more process air than an application requires.
| Specification | D100S | D120S |
|---|---|---|
| Maximum volume flow | 6,060m³/h | 7,320m³/h |
| Maximum differential pressure | 1,250mbar | 1,250mbar |
| Motor rating | 160kW | 250kW |
| Turndown ratio | Up to 1:5 | Up to 1:5 |
| Maximum sound pressure level | 78dB(A) | 78dB(A) |
Direct-drive design targets lower energy consumption
The new units use a direct-drive configuration with IE5 Ultra Premium Efficiency motors and integrated variable-frequency drives. The drives continuously adjust the volume of air delivered according to changing process requirements.
AERZEN reports that the direct-drive Delta Hybrid series can reduce energy consumption by up to 37% compared with conventional positive displacement blowers. Actual savings will depend on the equipment being replaced, operating pressure, airflow requirements and load profile.
The compressor stage combines newly designed screw rotor profiles with revised internal airflow guidance. AERZEN says this arrangement improves thermodynamic performance across the operating range.
Potential applications in wastewater treatment
Process-air systems are widely used in wastewater treatment, including biological aeration, filter backwashing and mixing applications. Aeration is typically one of the largest sources of electricity demand at a wastewater treatment plant, making blower selection and control significant factors in operating cost.
The D100S and D120S are designed to provide oil-free and PFAS-free process air. Avoiding contact between process air and lubricants is relevant in applications where contamination could affect treatment processes, products or environmental performance.
The models can also be used in drinking-water purification, pneumatic conveying, chemical processing, food production and other industrial applications requiring low-pressure process air.

Maintenance and operational reliability
AERZEN has designed the two packages for continuous operation under high loads. The units include pressure-lubricated bearings with a stated theoretical service life exceeding 60,000 operating hours.
Oil-change intervals can extend to 16,000 operating hours, according to the manufacturer. An oil cooler supports operation under demanding conditions, while the direct-drive arrangement reduces the number of mechanical transmission components requiring maintenance.
Both units have a stated maximum sound pressure level of 78dB(A) when fitted with their acoustic enclosures. The published figure excludes blow-off noise.
AERtronic control supports remote monitoring
The D100S and D120S include AERZEN’s AERtronic package controller. It controls and monitors the blower while making relevant operating data available to a plant’s higher-level control system.
Operators can also access operating information through a browser, tablet or smartphone. The monitoring capability is intended to improve process visibility and help operators identify conditions that could lead to inefficient operation or downtime.
Preconfigured plug-and-play packages
The Delta Hybrid packages are assembled and preconfigured at the factory. AERZEN says the plug-and-play design reduces the work required to connect and commission the units after delivery.
The enclosed design provides access for routine inspection and maintenance. Both new models have the same stated external dimensions and weight, although the D120S uses a larger motor and outlet connection.
