120Water has launched 120Field, a mobile data-collection product designed to connect utility fieldwork with water-quality and asset-compliance records. The product is being delivered through a strategic partnership with operational intelligence company TeamSolve.

The companies say 120Field allows crews to record inspections, service-line work and sampling activities while they are in the field. The information is then synchronised with 120Water’s compliance platform, reducing the need to transfer data manually from paper forms or spreadsheets.

120Field connects fieldwork with compliance records

120Field provides guided digital workflows for activities including service-line verification, replacements, asset inspections and the delivery or collection of water-sampling kits. Utilities can configure forms for different types of fieldwork and attach photographs or videos to individual records.

The product also includes route planning and offline operation, allowing crews to continue recording information in areas without a reliable internet connection. Data is synchronised when connectivity becomes available again.

Standard verification and replacement forms can synchronise with the 120Water platform. This gives compliance teams greater visibility of work as it progresses and reduces repeated data entry between field and office systems.

Partnership adds TeamSolve technology

120Field is powered by TeamSolve’s Knowledge Twin technology, which is designed to connect operational information with individual assets and field activities. TeamSolve positions the platform as an intelligence layer that can work alongside existing supervisory control and data acquisition, maintenance and geographic information systems.

The companies say the initial objective is to improve the capture and use of field data. Over time, the accumulated information could also support asset planning, maintenance decisions and the retention of operational knowledge.

Mudasser Iqbal, co-founder and CEO of TeamSolve, said the partnership’s scope extends beyond digitising existing forms.

“The journey we see most clearly starts with workflow digitisation, moves into operational understanding of assets and issues, and eventually supports higher-level planning and capital decisions through accumulated operational knowledge.”

Reducing manual data entry for utility teams

Many water utilities continue to rely on paper forms or spreadsheets for field activities, requiring information to be entered into separate systems later. This can delay reporting and create additional opportunities for incomplete or inconsistent records.

By transferring field information directly into the compliance platform, 120Field is intended to give managers a more current view of inspections, replacements and sampling work. State agencies using 120Water may also receive more timely information from the systems they oversee.

The launch follows the introduction of other 120Water products focused on regulatory data management. H2O Global News previously reported on the company’s PWS Insights platform for managing compliance across multiple water systems.

Supporting lead service-line programmes

Among its initial applications, 120Field supports service-line verification and replacement work associated with US lead and copper regulations. Crews can record service-line materials, document replacement stages and attach supporting images from the worksite.

The product can also support water-quality sampling, hydrant flushing, valve exercising and other inspection activities through configurable forms. Custom workflows can be adapted to the work being carried out by an individual utility.

Casey Myers, CEO of 120Water, said field operators need tools that simplify their work while providing compliance teams with usable data.

“With TeamSolve and the launch of 120Field, we’re able to bring field data into critical compliance workflows, delivering a unified picture of operations and compliance.”

The companies have not disclosed the commercial terms of the partnership. Further information about the product is available on the 120Field product page.
