Yorkshire Water has appointed contract partner Lanes Group to provide its wastewater services throughout its 2025 – 2030 delivery period (AMP8).

Following a robust procurement process, Lanes Group has been chosen to provide wastewater services and will support the utility in responding to repair and maintenance issues on its wastewater network across the entire region, in addition to providing specialist lining services and customer service.

The contract begins in April 2025, covering the five-year AMP8 delivery period, with an option to extend it for three further years. The contract is valued at approximately £500 million across eight years.

James Harrison, head of customer field services at Yorkshire Water, said: “The region’s wastewater system is vast and complex, stretching to 52,000 KM. Through an enhanced approach to maintenance across the entire network, this partnership aims to improve our services to both customers and the environment.  Delivering an excellent service to our local communities is hugely important to us, and we’re excited to work with Lanes Group to continue making that happen.”

Wayne Earnshaw, CEO of Lanes Group, said: “Partnering with Yorkshire Water is an important milestone for Lanes Group, and we are looking forward to building a strong, collaborative relationship. Innovation, safety, and continuous improvement are central to how we operate, ensuring we continue to deliver the high standards of service our customers expect. Our team is ready to rise to the challenge and make a real impact in the communities we serve.”
