The launch follows Wilo’s integration of FSM Frankenberger, a specialist in wastewater screening and treatment technologies. The combined expertise of industry figures Simon Light and Ian Hayward — who together bring more than 60 years of experience in engineering and water treatment — strengthens the offering.
FSM’s screening technology completes Wilo’s full treatment pathway, enabling utilities to streamline engineering and procurement processes, reduce installation complexity and lower operational costs at a time when companies are under pressure to upgrade assets and improve performance.
Simon Light said:
“Screening is crucial in protecting equipment and preventing blockages that could halt the entire treatment process. Without effective screening, components are exposed to unnecessary wear, leading to higher maintenance costs and potential environmental breaches.”
The integrated approach supports water companies as they work to address compliance, capacity and sustainability challenges. As the sector progresses through AMP8 — which will require £104 billion of investment and an estimated 50,000 additional operatives by 2030 — utilities are advancing upgrades across storm overflow reduction, sludge treatment and discharge quality.
Simon Oakes, Sales Director – Water Management & Industry at Wilo UK, said the new solution aims to simplify the process for utilities delivering large-scale improvements.
“Water companies are under significant pressure to meet AMP8 expectations. Leveraging external expertise will be invaluable for delivering upgrades efficiently and sustainably.”
