Over 80 international experts will gather in Seville this February as WEX Global 2026 examines how water, energy and climate systems can be transformed through collaboration, digital innovation and circular economy models.

The 20th edition of the Water and Energy Exchange (WEX) Global will take place from 9–11 February 2026, bringing together specialists from more than 40 countries to address some of the most urgent challenges facing the global water sector. Over 25 sessions will explore how policy, finance, technology and partnerships can move the sector from long-term vision to practical action.

The focus keyphrase WEX Global 2026 water energy climate underpins this year’s agenda, with discussions centred on sustainable water stewardship, digital transformation, climate resilience and innovation across the water cycle.

Four thematic pillars shaping WEX Global 2026

The programme for WEX Global 2026 water energy climate is structured around four core themes designed to reflect the sector’s most pressing priorities.

Sustainable water stewardship and resilience

Sessions will explore future watershed management, agricultural water use, water abundance as a global goal, and financing mechanisms for water infrastructure in emerging markets.

AI and digital transformation in the water cycle

Experts will examine the opportunities and risks associated with artificial intelligence in utility operations, water intelligence platforms, urban water futures and the integration of digital technologies across the sector.

Collaboration, financing and sustainable development

This theme focuses on innovative financing models, catalytic partnerships for climate action, and new public–private collaboration frameworks to accelerate sustainable outcomes.

Innovation and the circular economy

Discussions will cover wastewater-to-energy conversion, water reuse and desalination, green infrastructure, biorefineries and the evolving regulatory landscape for emerging contaminants.

Across all four themes, WEX Global 2026 water energy climate will emphasise scalable solutions that can deliver measurable environmental and social impact.

WEX Global Awards recognise circular economy leadership

The WEX Global Awards will be presented during the gala dinner on Tuesday, 10 February, recognising best practice in circular economy strategies across the water and energy sectors.

Award categories include innovation in water and the circular economy; innovation in decarbonisation and climate resilience; innovation in digital transformation of the water sector; and innovation in watershed restoration and water-positive solutions.

Ahead of the ceremony, the Innovation Forum will provide six selected companies with the opportunity to present their projects to an expert jury and the wider WEX Global audience.
