Water purification specialist Envirogen appoints Shawn Vestal as National Healthcare Manager

Water purification specialist Envirogen has appointed Shawn Vestal to the newly created position of National Healthcare Manager, responsible for expanding the company’s healthcare business in the United States, including in endoscope washer facilities in sterile processing departments and central sterile services departments (SPDs/CSSDs).

Vestal brings with him more than 20 years’ experience as a healthcare products champion and director for US Filter and Siemens Water Technologies. He will be supported nationwid e by Envirogen’s headquarters and regional offices for sales of the company’s new EndoTherm range of healthcare water purification solutions.

“Joining Envirogen is a perfect fit for me,” he says. “The company is very well established  and, with EndoTherm helping to ensure patient safety and meet ST108 standard compliance, I very much look forward to working with hospitals across North America to meet their legal requirements for high quality water for endoscope washer facilities.”

Vestal comments, “Hospitals have a real need to reduce healthcare-associated infections. A reliable supply of consistently high-quality purified water in sterile processing departments is a key route to achieving that goal. To that end we will be assisting SPDs with ST108-focused consultation both online and face-to-face.”

His experience includes design support for new construction in hospitals, construction organizations and end users in laboratories and sterile processing. Additionally, he has partnered with equipment companies to provide solutions, efficiency enhancements and compliance assurance in healthcare; and has worked across different high purity process water groups during his career.
