Valencia (Spain) will be hosting the 19th WEX Global from February 10 to 12, 2025. The event, entitled Water, Energy & Climate Change. Partnerships for Progress to a World of Water Abundance, is set to bring together more than 90 experts from over 45 countries at one of the leading international water and energy sector meetings.
According to Jaime Barba, the CEO of IDRICA, “WEX continues to be one of the key meeting points for the water sector. The quality of the debates and the large number of attendees are highly conducive to boosting synergies and driving learning”. The event is divided into conferences, meetings and networking sessions, which are ideal to harness the opportunities created by the interconnections between the circular economy and holistic digital strategies to mitigate the impacts of climate change, the energy transition and digital transformation in water resource management. Along these lines, Mark Barker, the CEO of WEX Global, stated: “it is essential to have a forward-looking vision in digital management as this continues to make a difference and embodies the transformational spirit that we aim to drive every year at WEX Global”.
Key topics on the agenda at WEX include integrated water resource management, water intelligence, next-gen urban management with NB-IoT, digital solutions for energy efficiency, sustainable urban water management, and water reuse and optimization in agricultural production systems. Climate funding and the power of partnerships to unlock the potential of sustainable development are also on the programme, and the Leaders Forum will be discussing “Resilient Watersheds: Strategies for a Sustainable Future”.
Another highlight of the event is a visit to some of the facilities in which Xylem Vue is already up and running, giving attendees the chance to learn how the platform works first hand.
On Tuesday, February 11, the Gala Dinner will be held, serving as the prelude to the presentation of the WEX Global Awards, which focus on recognizing best practices in circular economy strategies in the sector. The categories for 2025 are:

- Innovation in Building Healthy Watersheds
