Water-saving initiatives highlighted at Toby’s Garden Festival

South West Water’s Customer Engagement Team will be present throughout the event, offering advice on reducing water use both indoors and in outdoor spaces such as gardens.

Water efficiency remains a key priority for utilities, particularly as climate pressures and population growth increase demand on water resources.

The festival, organised by broadcaster Toby Buckland in collaboration with Country Gardener magazine, showcases nurseries, producers and sustainability-focused initiatives from across the region.

Dani Twelvetree, Director of Customer Communications and Engagement at South West Water, said: “Toby’s Garden Festival showcases the creativity, talent and growing expertise that the South West is known for, and we’re delighted to support it at Powderham Castle.

“Our Customer Engagement Team will be there throughout the event to chat with visitors and provide free water saving devices and advice on how to enjoy a WaterWise garden.”

Promoting sustainable gardening and water management

The festival will feature a range of expert speakers, including horticultural specialists and sustainability advocates, alongside exhibitions and live demonstrations.

Encouraging more efficient water use in gardens is an important step in reducing overall demand, particularly during periods of dry weather when outdoor water use can increase significantly.

Events such as Toby’s Garden Festival provide an opportunity for water companies and environmental organisations to engage directly with the public and promote practical solutions.
