Industrial valve manufacturer RF Valves has officially opened its newly expanded facility in Hanover, Maryland, following several years of sustained growth and increased demand across global infrastructure markets.

The ribbon-cutting event, held on 10 December, brought together local, state and federal representatives alongside international officials to mark a significant milestone for the company. The expansion reflects RF Valves’ continued investment in manufacturing capacity, logistics and engineering capabilities.

The new facility represents a 40% increase in space compared with the company’s previous location, incorporating expanded workspace, warehousing and logistics operations. The site now holds more than 3,200 stock-keeping units, supporting a wide range of industrial and municipal valve applications.

Supporting critical infrastructure worldwide

RF Valves has supplied engineered valve solutions for projects across water, energy, mining and industrial sectors. Its client base includes organisations such as Georgia-Pacific, Constellation Energy and DC Water, as well as major mining operations in North and South America. The company’s products are also used at the Carlsbad Desalination Plant in California and on the forthcoming Gordie Howe International Bridge.

Danilo Garcia, President of RF Valves, said the expansion reinforces the company’s commitment to domestic manufacturing while serving international markets.

“I’m proud to be creating jobs while designing and manufacturing engineering solutions here in Hanover,” he said. “For more than 30 years, our engineers have been solving complex challenges across multiple industries, with our valves playing a role in critical infrastructure around the world.”

International ownership and collaboration

RF Valves’ global footprint was highlighted during the ceremony, reflecting its ownership by DFC Water, the largest valve manufacturer in Africa, based in South Africa. Remarks were delivered by Ismail Esau, Chargé d’Affaires for South Africa, who noted the importance of international collaboration in advanced manufacturing.

The company’s historical ties to Finland were also recognised, with Ulla Lainio, Commercial Counsellor for the Embassy of Finland, referencing RF Valves’ origins, which trace back to both Finland and Maryland in 1993.

Additional speakers included representatives from Maryland state and local government, who acknowledged RF Valves’ contribution to employment, advanced manufacturing and export-led growth.
