Ovarro, a leading technology company, has appointed Barbara Hathaway as its new technology leader. With 27 years of experience at the company, Barbara is well-equipped to specialize in leakage solutions. Her journey began as a software engineer for Primayer, which was later acquired by Ovarro in 2019. With hard work and dedication, she progressed through various roles, from customer services manager to technical services director and then became the vice president of engineering last year.
In her new role, Barbara will steer and enhance Ovarro’s technology strategy and roadmap for leakage solutions. She stated that the last two years have been challenging for the electronics industry, but supply chain shortages are easing. Therefore, now is the ideal time to focus on researching and developing next-generation leakage reduction technologies. By co-operating with industry experts, Barbara aims to bring novel and pioneering technological ideas and collaborations to support utilities with their leakage strategies. The global population is rising, and demand for water with it. Thus, water companies need to get maximum efficiency out of their assets, and leakage-targets are expected. Widespread loss through leaking pipes is no longer acceptable in the eyes of the public and regulators.
Barbara is optimistic about the progress and eager to explore new ways to develop Ovarro’s acoustic fixed network loggers and other services to advance leakage reduction targets and environmental performance. Excited by the current prospects, she is looking forward to leading Ovarro’s drive to help utilities conserve water supplies.
David Frost, Ovarro’s CEO, is thrilled to have Barbara Hathaway as the new leakage technology leader. He describes her knowledge and experience of leakage technology as unparalleled, and her appointment to this role reflects the company’s commitment to bringing next-generation products and services to the water industry worldwide.
