Mitsubishi Electric is positioning pump control, automation and system visualisation as a single-source offer for water and wastewater utilities seeking better operational visibility.

Mitsubishi Electric US, Inc., Industrial Automation Division and Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions, Inc. are presenting a unified approach to pump control, automation and system visualisation for water and wastewater utilities.

The companies said a single partner for pump control, automation and system visualisation can help utilities reduce downtime, improve operational visibility and support better-informed decision-making.

The approach combines drive and control hardware with digital visualisation software, targeting utilities facing pressure to reduce energy consumption, improve reliability and operate with fewer resources.

Mitsubishi Electric will demonstrate the water and wastewater offer at WEFTEC 2026 in New Orleans, where it is exhibiting at booth 1000.

Mitsubishi Electric water automation offer combines control and visibility

Fragmented water systems can limit operational efficiency and reduce visibility across facilities, according to Mitsubishi Electric.

The company said its integrated approach is designed to simplify system design and improve operational performance by bringing pump control, automation and digital visibility together.

For water and wastewater utilities, this can support operators managing distributed assets, ageing infrastructure, energy use and staffing constraints.

Mitsubishi Electric’s WEFTEC 2026 page says the company will showcase pumping and control solutions for water and wastewater operations, including VFDs and real-time SCADA monitoring.

FR-F800 drive supports pump control

Water and wastewater systems are among the largest energy users in municipal operations, with pumping accounting for much of that demand.

Mitsubishi Electric said its FR-F800 series variable frequency drive can help improve pump reliability, reduce maintenance and lower operating costs.

The release highlights built-in anti-clogging capabilities, cavitation avoidance and smart multi-pump control.

Common applications include aeration, wastewater transfer and water distribution.

Mitsubishi Electric’s FR-F800 product information says the drive includes pump-focused functions such as cavitation avoidance and fault detection for issues including filter clogging.

GENESIS SCADA extends operational visibility

When paired with GENESIS, Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions’ industrial SCADA automation platform, the automation technologies extend beyond equipment-level control.

GENESIS collects, visualises, monitors and analyses operational data from assets, facilities and distributed infrastructure.

Mitsubishi Electric said real-time operational visibility can help utilities respond more quickly to changing conditions, improve decision-making and manage daily operations more effectively.

Additional GENESIS features include universal connectivity that centralises data from modern equipment and legacy systems, alarm management and escalation, historical data collection, reporting and analytics, and secure remote access, monitoring and control.

Mitsubishi Electric Iconics Digital Solutions describes GENESIS as an industrial automation platform with SCADA capabilities for sectors including water and wastewater.

Unified approach targets modern water challenges

By combining hardware and digital technologies, Mitsubishi Electric said it can provide a single-source solution that simplifies integration and supports operational goals including energy efficiency, reliability and sustainability.

Mitsubishi Electric said live demonstrations at WEFTEC 2026 will show how pump control, automation and digital visualisation can work together to address water and wastewater challenges.

The company said its experts will be available to discuss applications, answer technical questions and explain how a unified approach can support operational goals.
