At Liquid I.V.®, we believe that water is a basic human right — yet 1 in 4 people worldwide lack access to clean, safe water2. In recognition of World Water Day, an annual United Nations observance day dedicated to celebrating water and inspiring action to tackle the global water crisis, Liquid I.V. ® is announcing the expansion of its successful U.S. grant model to select international markets where Liquid I.V.® is sold.
Liquid I.V.® is committed to annually donating over 1% of its total revenue globally towards sustainable and inclusive clean water access initiatives. This marks the first time select international markets will participate in the brand’s water impact efforts.
“At Liquid I.V., we believe hydration transforms lives, and it all starts with water” said Jostein Solheim, CEO, Unilever Wellbeing Collective, Liquid I.V.® parent company. “Expanding access to clean water for communities in need is our signature cause, and one that we are committed to growing alongside our business. We are proud to be scaling our efforts and engaging more Liquid I.V.® teams, partners and consumers in the process.”
Through these efforts, we are welcoming four new partners funded by more than $500,000 USD in total international market grants to further our mission to advance access to clean and abundant water for vulnerable communities around the world:
- Water First – Canada: Supporting the Drinking Water Internship; a program designed to help Indigenous youth and adults develop the technical skills and hands-on training to monitor and maintain safe water in Indigenous communities.
- Isla Urbana – Mexico: Supporting the installation of rainwater harvesting systems within schools, residences and communities.
- University of Melbourne – Australia: Supporting a team at the University of Melbourne to research low-cost methods to remove harmful groundwater contaminants that affect drinking water in rural communities in India.
- WaterAid – United Kingdom: Supporting the installation of a solar-powered water system to provide access to water for drinking and handwashing at a health center and community in Zambia.
In 2024 alone, through contributions from the U.S. and international markets, Liquid I.V.® invested more than $4 million USD in clean water access grants, supporting the work of 18 organizations and expanding access to clean, safe water for over 800,000 people globally.
