  • The work supports Midland Slurry Systems’ agricultural wastewater and slurry management customers.
  • Refurbishment can help farmers extend equipment life and reduce replacement costs.
  • The story highlights the role of repair and maintenance in farm wastewater infrastructure.

Farmers are benefitting from the extension in life being given to their Landia slurry pumps, thanks to the specialist refurbishment services of Powerline Electric Motors.

The Banbury-based company (who also provide high-quality repairs, rewinding and refurbishment of electric motors, fans, and gearboxes to numerous industries), transform Landia pumps that have typically already completed 10-plus years of uninterrupted service.

‘Arduous duties’

Richard Thompson, Managing Director of Powerline said: “Our team enjoy working on the Landia pumps, because although they understandably arrive looking very unloved from arduous duties, the design makes them good to work on, and they are clearly built to last. We’ve received several units that are already more than 25 years old, which then continue to run and run.”

‘Repair, oven and varnish’

He added: “We take great pride in treating the Landia pumps to our repair, oven and varnish treatment. People often don’t believe the before and after photos (!), but with our team’s skills and care, it’s all true! We help farmers get the very best value from their equipment.”

Hard-working Landia slurry pumps typically arrive at Powerline from Midland Slurry Systems, who provide, supply and maintain agricultural wastewater treatment installations and slurry management solutions.

Speaking for Midland Slurry Systems, Giles Russell commented: “Powerline offer a very good turnaround, and the quality of their work is always first-class. Farmers already know that they’ve made a wise, long-term investment with a Landia slurry pump, but they are still suitably amazed when they see how it has benefited from Powerline’s work. We have been installing Landia pumps as part of separator systems for many years, as well as their proven mixers for homogenising slurry pits.”

Landia’s Gary Wharton, continued: ”We offer service nationwide, and have our own in-house team, but our long-established relationship with Midland Slurry Systems, and trust in Powerline’s expertise works very well indeed for our customers.”
