Itron is set to work with Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water to improve water data management and automate meter reading. Itron will deploy Temetra, its cloud-based mobile meter collection and management technology, to read 750,000 water meters across Wales.
Welsh Water provides water to 3 million customers and will use Itron’s Temetra technology to optimise their operations. The utility will use manual and automated data collection methods to improve meter reading efficiency, collect and upload data in real time and securely store and manage data in the cloud.
Itron Senior Vice President of Outcomes, Don Reeves said: “At Itron, we are committed to providing modern water solutions to help utilities gain actionable understanding of water metering and use, water distribution, water leakage and more. With our next-generation Temetra solution, Dŵr Cymru Welsh Water will be able to optimise its operations and improve customer engagement to make every drop of water count.”
Itron provides a range of infrastructure solutions to enable utilities to manage their water, gas and electricity resources more effectively. Their combination of devices, networks and services facilitates a more resourceful operation.
