For the second year in a row, V5G Days 2022 will be taking place from May 30-31 in Valencia, Spain. This 5G technology event is a benchmark in Europe and will be held in the Oceanogràfic. It has been organized by the Institute of Telecommunications and Multimedia Applications (iTEAM) at the Universitat Politècnica de València and will be attended by international experts and speakers, who will be showcasing live demonstrations of 5G technology applied to actual use cases.
The event’s main theme this year is “5G: driving digital transformation” and it will be bringing together participants from the industry in general, Latin American partners who are learning about the 5G experience in Europe, 5G innovation leaders, and academics who will be addressing the future of this technology. Mobile World Capital and the Spanish National 5G Observatory are also collaborating in the event’s 5G in Spain section.
The in-person meeting, which will also be streamed, includes round tables, pitches and conferences given by guest speakers. Idrica, a pioneering company in the implementation of 5G in the water sector, is one of the event’s sponsors and will be participating in one of the sessions.
Carlos Tejedor, Instrumentation & Smart Metering Specialist at Idrica, will be one of the speakers at the session held on May 30 at 10.15am, entitled “5G deployment success stories” and moderated by Eduard Martín (Mobile World Capital). In this conference, Tejedor will be showcasing the company’s involvement in the application of 5G-NR technology in the remote reading of water consumption in real time.
This use case is being undertaken within the Red.es 5G pilot project, which is part of the 5G National Plan and the National Plan for Smart Territories. Both are promoted by the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation and co-financed with ERDF funds. In this project, Idrica has developed the first 5G-NR device specifically for the water sector. This groundbreaking piece of equipment provides solutions to the challenges in Massive IoT scenarios and boosts energy efficiency.
As an international company leading the digital transformation of the water sector, Idrica will be bringing to the event its expertise in the use of 5G in the industry as a key technology to improve processes and move towards smart water. This meeting is a great opportunity to exchange ideas on the challenges and opportunities that 5G affords.
