HydroThane STP BV has appointed a new leadership team as the company enters a new phase of growth three years after being acquired by French industrial group Axens. The Den Bosch-based wastewater technology provider aims to reinforce partnerships, expand its market presence and accelerate the delivery of anaerobic digestion and biogas projects worldwide.
The company has named Morgane Pigeaux as its new Managing Director. Pigeaux, deputed from Axens, holds a PhD in chemistry and a master’s degree from HEC Paris. She has spent the past three years working across HydroThane and Axens in technology-focused development roles. Her expertise includes anaerobic industrial water treatment, HydroThane’s core area of specialisation.
Alongside this appointment, Arno van de Kant has joined HydroThane as Director of Operations. Van de Kant brings significant operational experience from Dutch and international industry, with responsibility for improving project execution, supporting customer delivery, and enhancing operational efficiency across HydroThane’s portfolio.
Advancing wastewater and biogas projects
Since its founding in 2008, HydroThane has completed nearly 230 wastewater treatment and biogas projects across multiple industrial sectors. The company provides anaerobic digestion solutions that convert organic pollution in industrial wastewater into biogas, supporting environmental performance and energy recovery.
HydroThane plans to expand its presence in emerging sectors such as sustainable fuels and plastic recycling, as well as enter new geographic markets. Several early projects in these areas have already been signed, reflecting growing demand for advanced industrial water treatment technologies.
Global reach supported by Axens
As HydroThane grows beyond its historical customer base in brewing, distillery, dairy, agri-food and paper industries, the company intends to leverage Axens’ engineering expertise and international footprint. Axens’ subsidiaries across Europe, Asia, Africa and the Americas are expected to support HydroThane’s expansion, particularly in South America and Southwest Asia.
