Grundfos, the leading global pump and water solutions company, has been awarded ‘Water Technology Company of the Year’ at the prestigious Global Water Awards, run by Global Water Intelligence.
The award was presented to the company that was seen to have made the most significant contribution to the field of water and digital technology in 2023 and underscores Grundfos’ unwavering commitment to revolutionising water technology and sustainability practices worldwide.
When highlighting the reasons for Grundfos’ win, the organisers cited the company’s dedication to transforming customers’ operations in water distribution, wastewater collection and industrial water treatment, as well as a significant R&D pipeline.
In particular, the acquisition of Metasphere, a leading provider of telemetry and analytics solutions for water and sewer networks, was called out as an example of Grundfos’ peerless implementation of digital solutions, which has already led to 35% fewer pipe breaks, a 25% reduction in energy consumption and 15% fewer issues about loss.
Celebrating the win, Ralph Exton, VP, CMO at Grundfos Water Utility said:
“At Grundfos, our mission is to effect positive change in the world through revolutionary advancements in water technology and sustainable practices. From our inception, our purpose has remained to spearhead solutions to the global water and climate crises, while enhancing the quality of life for communities worldwide.
“This recognition not only validates our ongoing endeavours but also serves as a catalyst for further innovation and progress. As we celebrate this award, our resolve to drive innovation, champion sustainability, and instigate positive transformations within the water industry remains steadfast.”
During the Global Water Summit, Ralph Exton hosted a panel discussion alongside global industry leaders to define the gold standard in sewer security. In particular, the group discussed the need to create clean, safe water bodies and liveable cities while balancing environmental protection, public expectations, and financial sustainability.
