Grundfos has completed the rebrand of Metasphere in Australia, bringing the telemetry and analytics business fully under the Grundfos name.
The move marks the final stage of integrating Metasphere into Grundfos’ global water utility portfolio following the company’s acquisition. Metasphere has an established presence in Australia, where it supplies remote monitoring hardware, smart sensors and analytics to water authorities and local councils.
Under the unified brand, Grundfos said Australian customers will have access to an integrated offer combining telemetry technology, wastewater data analytics, hydraulic expertise and local engineering support.
The transition comes as utilities face growing pressure from ageing sewer networks, more intense rainfall events and urban growth. These pressures are increasing the need for better visibility across underground infrastructure and more proactive approaches to network management.
Smart monitoring for sewer and storm resilience
Grundfos said the rebrand supports its strategic focus on sewer and storm resilience. Metasphere’s telemetry hardware and software platforms, including ART Sewer and Grundfos Connect Sewer Insights, are now part of the wider Grundfos portfolio.
These systems use real-time level, rainfall and network data to help operators identify inflow and infiltration, detect dry-weather blockages and respond before network issues lead to spills, overflows or environmental contamination.

Better data from sewer and stormwater assets can help operators prioritise maintenance, target limited resources and reduce the need for costly large-scale interventions.

The company also said the digital portfolio is built on open standards, allowing utilities to retain ownership of their network data while integrating telemetry with existing management systems.
