  • Transcend has been named to the 2026 Global Cleantech 100

  • The list reflects growing emphasis on economic durability and resilience

  • Competition is intensifying amid tighter investment conditions

  • Infrastructure, water and resource security feature prominently

  • Cleantech innovation is shifting beyond efficiency towards long-term system strength

Transcend, a provider of generative engineering software for critical infrastructure, has been named to Cleantech Group’s 2026 Global Cleantech 100, an annual list recognising companies positioned to deliver market-ready solutions that support a more resilient global economy.

Now in its 17th year, the Global Cleantech 100 highlights innovators addressing environmental and infrastructure challenges across energy, water, materials, agriculture and the built environment. The 2026 edition reflects a market shaped by intensifying competition, resource security concerns and growing pressure on ageing systems.

Economic durability emerges as a defining theme

The 2026 Global Cleantech 100 reflects a shift in focus across the cleantech sector, as climate ambition increasingly intersects with delivery realities. Governments, utilities and industries are pursuing decarbonisation and resilience targets while operating under tighter financial constraints, climate volatility and infrastructure stress.

According to Cleantech Group, companies recognised this year demonstrate approaches designed not only for efficiency, but for long-term economic durability — ensuring climate solutions can be deployed, scaled and sustained under real-world conditions.

Competition intensifies amid changing investment dynamics

Following a year marked by geopolitical uncertainty and shifting macroeconomic signals, the global cleantech ecosystem enters 2026 with greater clarity but heightened competition. Growth is increasingly concentrated around artificial intelligence infrastructure and critical minerals, which dominate the sector’s strongest investment segments.

While some technologies remain in slower-growth phases, long-term indicators remain positive. Venture investment levels across cleantech themes continue to outperform pre-pandemic norms, signalling sustained confidence despite near-term headwinds.

Infrastructure resilience and resource security in focus

The 2026 cohort features companies addressing challenges linked to national security, grid resilience, climate adaptation and reliable access to power, materials and water. Together, they illustrate how climate innovation is expanding beyond efficiency gains towards strengthening the systems communities and industries depend on.

Ari Raivetz, Chief Executive Officer of Transcend, said inclusion on the list reflects the importance of designing infrastructure systems that remain effective over decades, not just years.

Cleantech Group leadership noted that the 2026 Global Cleantech 100 arrives at a pivotal moment, as innovation increasingly prioritises resilience and durability alongside decarbonisation.
