Built for the bigger picture: GF introduces the Butterfly Valve 565 Big

The GF Butterfly Valve 565 Big, designed for large-scale water treatment and desalination systems, stands as a symbol of strength and precision in water infrastructure.

GF Industry and Infrastructure Flow Solution has expanded its proven Butterfly Valve 565 range with the launch of the Butterfly Valve 565 Big, extending the line’s dimensions to DN350–DN600. Designed for durability and cost-effectiveness, the new thermoplastic valve delivers reliable performance in demanding applications such as desalination and water distribution.

Building on the success of the existing DN50–DN300 range, the 565 Big continues GF’s focus on corrosion-free materials, high pressure and temperature resistance, and a lightweight design that makes installation faster and safer. With a PN10 pressure rating, it is the strongest thermoplastic butterfly valve with a short installation length available on the market.

Durable design, lighter construction

The 565 Big’s housing is made from glass fibre-reinforced polypropylene, while its disc is manufactured from metal-reinforced polyethylene. This combination delivers a valve that is up to 20% lighter than metal alternatives without compromising strength or reliability. Its corrosion-resistant design ensures longevity in challenging water environments and reduces maintenance demands over time.

Automation-ready for the future

GF supports the valve’s integration into modern water systems through its Valve Automation Centres, which provide customised actuation solutions and assembly services, including the integration of third-party components. The 565 Big includes a standard interface that allows for simple automation and digitalisation, with optional modules such as various actuators and GF’s unique Double-Sensor Click-in with LED position feedback, which integrates directly into the valve housing.

“The 565 is built for the future thanks to corrosion-free materials and digital interfaces that ensure long-lasting, reliable, and cost-effective operation. With the introduction of the 565 Big, we are extending the application scope with the toughest plastic butterfly valves on the market. Water distribution and desalination applications will particularly benefit from its durability and high pressure rating while maintaining a short installation length.”
Jochen Hamburger, Head of Product Management Valves, GF Industry and Infrastructure Flow Solution

The 565 Big was launched in DN350 and DN400 dimensions, with DN450 to DN600 sizes to follow soon. The expansion strengthens GF’s butterfly valve portfolio, providing engineers and operators with a high-performance, sustainable solution for modern water infrastructure.
