CEBU, Philippines to use ROTEC’s Flow Reversal Reverse Osmosis (FR-RO) technology to produce ultra-pure water for its semiconductor plant.
The project includes the design, procurement, fabrication, installation, and supply of the FR-RO technology to treat 400 m3/day from the customer’s industrial semiconductor plant.
ROTEC will work once again with Acqua Engineering and Technical Services to collaborate on the project. This follows an initial collaboration between the companies on a previous plant in Cebu, the Philippines.
The project presented a number of design challenges: any solution would need to achieve the highest possible recovery, more than 93 per cent, while minimizing waste discharge, and meeting ever increasing global sustainability standards.
With these challenges in mind, ROTEC was asked to supply a new ultra-pure water system featuring its FR-RO proprietary technology that could treat 16.7 m3/hour of feedwater.
A two-pass system will be delivered including the use of Electrodeionization (EDI) to remove ions and ensure lower permeate water conductivity suitable for ultra-pure water quality lower than 1 μS/cm.
Jane Ubalde, owner of Acqua Engineering and Technical Services, said: “Working with ROTEC again, I have complete trust in the technology which has already proved successful in installations across a variety of sectors in APAC and the Philippines. Better still, combining the abilities of Acqua Engineering and Technical Services with ROTEC’s innovation and solid track record, this project will create a valuable offering for local customers.”
Nir Weisman, ROTEC’s VP sales and marketing, added: “ROTEC is pleased to partner with Acqua Engineering and Technical Services once again to deliver leading-edge technology for the local semiconductor industry. We look forward to continuing to challenge the flow and expand our footprint in the Philippines, providing clear water value for our customers around the world.”
