At IFAT 2024, global water technology leader Xylem (NYSE: XYL), will join customers, colleagues and collaborators to highlight the solutions and strategies that are helping utilities optimize operations, lower carbon emissions and build climate resilience.
Following the Company’s “Net Zero Carbon Champion” award win at the 2024 Global Water Awards in April, Xylem will celebrate customers who are advancing decarbonization efforts and participate in conversations with industry experts that can help the sector move further, faster, in the race to net zero. Monday, May 13 (2:30 pm CEST, Blue Stage – Hall B2) – Hayati Yarkadas, President at Xylem Europe, will discuss innovations in wastewater reuse technology during Water Reuse: Chance or Meander, a panel discussion hosted by the European Water Association. Joined by Dr Jörg E. Drewes, Professor of Urban Water Systems Engineering at Munich University, and Professor Uli Paetzel, Chairman of the Executive Board of Emschergenossenschaft and Lippeverband, the panel will discuss current best practices in water reuse approaches and how scaling solutions can enhance Europe’s ability to adapt to climate change.
Tuesday, May 14 (9:30 am CEST, German Water Partnership Stage – Hall B2, 227/326) – Alexis de Kerchove, Europe Client Sustainability Leader at Xylem, will be joined by Nathan Wield, Wastewater Operations West Manager at Scottish Water, to explore how collective efforts can make a significant impact on environmental sustainability. Decarbonization in the Water Sector, Why Reducing CO2 Matters will examine how Scottish Water is accelerating its goal of becoming carbon neutral by 2040 through innovation and collaboration.
Wednesday, May 15 (11:00 am CEST, Aqua Forum – Xylem Booth, Hall B1) – Alexis de Kerchove will present Xylem’s new paper, Meet the Utilities Setting the Pace on Decarbonization. Joined by Andreu Fargas, Innovation Manager at Consorci d’Aigües de Tarragona, Dieter Thöle, Head of Operations and Technology at Ruhrverband, and Nathan Wield of Scottish Water, this session will explore the innovative approaches European utilities are deploying to advance the global race to zero.
