Bentley Systems has completed the acquisitions of Talon Aerolytics and the technology and technical expertise of Pointivo, expanding its asset analytics capabilities as infrastructure operators face growing pressure to modernise networks and improve resilience.
The transactions, which closed in December, significantly scale Bentley’s Asset Analytics portfolio, which applies digital twins, artificial intelligence and advanced analytics to support asset performance management across multiple infrastructure sectors.
Bentley’s existing asset analytics platforms include OpenTower iQ for telecommunications infrastructure and Blyncsy for road networks. The addition of Talon and Pointivo extends these capabilities across telecommunications and electric utilities, supporting integrated digital workflows for global 5G deployment and grid modernisation.
As infrastructure owners respond to increasing demand driven by electrification, connectivity and ageing assets, Bentley says the expanded platform will enable organisations to digitise, analyse and optimise assets at scale.
Talon provides solutions for site surveys, inspections and asset digitisation across wireless telecommunications, broadband and electric utility networks. Its platform combines workflow automation, digital twins and AI to improve productivity for recurring inspections while delivering greater visibility into asset condition.
Rod Dir, Chief Executive Officer of Talon, said: “Over the past decade, Talon has established itself as a trusted intelligent collaboration platform for managing asset lifecycles and analysing infrastructure with our AI-enabled software. By joining Bentley Systems, we are poised to expand our global reach and enhance asset resilience through the integration of Bentley’s advanced engineering simulation capabilities.”
The acquisition of Pointivo’s technology adds further horizontal capabilities to Bentley Asset Analytics, including drone data processing, AI-powered damage detection and geospatial intelligence. These tools are designed to convert large volumes of visual data into actionable insights for asset owners and operators.
Jacob Garland, Chief Technology Officer at Pointivo, said: “Our patented AI-driven inventory and damage detection technology was built to turn vast volumes of unstructured visual data into precise, trustworthy insights. As part of Bentley, these capabilities will support earlier issue detection and help keep critical infrastructure performing reliably.”
James Lee, Chief Operating Officer at Bentley Systems, said the acquisitions reflect a strategic investment in scaling asset analytics across infrastructure sectors, enabling continuous inspections that improve operational performance and long-term maintenance economics.
Werner Andre, Chief Financial Officer at Bentley Systems, added that Bentley’s asset analytics portfolio is now operating at an annual revenue run rate of approximately $50 million, supporting continued growth in recurring revenues and cash flow.
