Next-generation membranes targeting desalination efficiency

Active Membranes develops smart membrane technologies designed to significantly reduce the energy use, physical footprint and lifecycle cost of membrane-based water treatment systems, including desalination plants.

The company states that its technology can reduce the cost and carbon footprint of membrane plants by at least 50%, enabling more cost-effective deployment at a range of scales and supporting the modernisation of both new and existing water treatment infrastructure.

Dr Hoek said: “Active is at a critical inflection point, and this role enables me to support strategy, sales and fundraising. I am excited to explore how my wider industry relationships can help create new opportunities and accelerate growth.”
