Stantec, a global leader in sustainable design and engineering, has been chosen to design the water reclamation facility expansion for Apache Junction Sewer District (AJSD) in Arizona. With a 19-year history working with AJSD, Stantec is committed to providing high-quality infrastructure that will meet the rapid population growth in the area.
AJSD provides wastewater collection and treatment services to over 7,000 customers in the Phoenix metropolitan area and currently operates a collection system that is almost twice its original size. The water reclamation facility expansion project is underway to support ongoing development and population growth in the area. Upon completion, the upgraded facility will be able to support an additional 3.5 million gallons per day of capacity, enabling AJSD to serve its community better.
Stantec’s expert team will lead the design and manage the construction of the water reclamation facility expansion from preliminary stages through final design and commissioning. The project will include design, permitting, commissioning, and long-term facility compliance for AJSD. The expanded water reclamation facility will feature the latest technology and innovations in wastewater treatment operations.
“We are excited to partner with AJSD in designing and constructing the new water reclamation facility expansion. Our team is dedicated to providing the best possible infrastructure to support the district’s growing community,” said Maria Brady, Stantec project manager and senior principal, Water.
