Future Water recognises that the water industry is known for being able to rise to the many challenges facing the sector and the environment. We are proud of how the sector has adapted and displayed resilience, over the past few years and continues to do so. Critical to this are the individuals who do something different and go above and beyond the requirements of their daily working lives.
This year there are two recipients of the award:
- Phil Barnaby, EDI Chairman, Affinity Water
- Jen Baughan, CEO, Solutions for the Planet
Melissa Harrison-Crowley, Caraffi, said:
”Caraffi is a talent management advisory who firmly believe that ‘people are your greatest asset’. So we were really thrilled to be asked by Future Water to partner and to present the ‘Going Above and Beyond’, celebrating the best in people. This year we have two very worthy joint winners:
- Phil Barnaby, EDI Chairman at Affinity Water, is recognised for his commitment to drive ED&I with Affinity Water and the sector. Phil has worked tirelessly to reach underrepresented communities to educate them about the opportunities within the water sector.
- Jen Baughan, CEO for Solutions for the Planet is recognised for her work in connecting young enquiring minds from schools and communities with business to build a more sustainable future for all.
Paul Horton, CEO Future Water added
”I’m delighted that we have been able to recognise two great people who have gone beyond their normal work and delivered real change. Discussion around EDI (Equality, Diversity & Inclusion) is essential if the water sector is to truly innovate and Phil Barnaby has been pushing the boundaries of this agenda and challenging people to have the difficult discussions.
Future Water knows that we need to get the next generation interested in and working in our sector, rising to this challenge to bring schools and young people into our Space is Jen Baughan, who has driven the agenda to engage schools, going out of her way to bring pupils into the environment agenda”.
