Halogen Systems Inc., a leading manufacturer of industrial automation solutions, has announced the launch of its new D20 controller. This versatile and functional device can connect to its MP5-A chlorine sensors and PLCs. The D20 controller features a graphic display, a real-time clock, an onboard SD card for data logging, and an optional low-cost integrated cellular modem option. The device complies with US and EU safety standards and allows easy firmware upgrades using an SD card.
The D20 controller has two RS485 buses to separate PLC Modbus communication from the chlorine analyzer communication, ensuring reliable and secure data transmission. The device has three configurable relays to control outputs based on sensor readings or PLC commands. The optional cellular modem enables the D20 controller to send data to the cloud, where authorized users can access it remotely. The cellular modem also allows for remote configuration and troubleshooting of the device.
Halogen’s D20 controller displays all five of the MP5-A Sensor’s parameters and more. The device can display sensor readings in various units and formats. It can also communicate with PLCs using Modbus RTU.
Halogen plans to release an optional add-on in Q1 2024 that will add an Ethernet I/P option to the D20 controller, allowing faster and more robust communication with PLCs and other devices. The Ethernet I/P option will enable the D20 controller to support OPC UA, the industry standard data exchange.
Halogen’s D20 controller is a powerful and flexible solution for industrial automation applications that require data acquisition, display, control, and communication. The device is now available for order from its authorized distributors. For more information, please visit halogensys.com.
