Water and Wastewater Experts Alpheus Environmental Announce 44% Year-on-Year Growth

Written by louise davey

Leading water and wastewater solutions provider Alpheus Environmental has announced a forty-four per cent growth in turnover for 2022/2023 – the largest growth year-on-year in the company’s history.

Alpheus Environmental is a specialist water and wastewater solutions provider for both the private and public sectors, including food and beverage, distilling, municipal, pharmaceutical, leisure, and manufacturing. Businesses collaborate with the firm to improve plant performance, reduce operating costs, lower process risks, and, most significantly, progress towards environmental and sustainability goals through resource recovery and optimisations.

Declan Maguire, Managing Director at Alpheus, commented on the results: “The incredible results of the last year can be attributed to a variety of factors, spearheaded by our refined strategy to engage with clients and partners in the industry to place sustainability at the centre of everything we do. We’ve seen exceptional performance from our on-site teams delivering outstanding results for our customers, and a continued growth of interest in water and wastewater management as a tool to continue with sustainability efforts on the path to Net Zero. With all these elements combined, we are delighted they have had a stronger impact than could have been expected.”

One area observing a growth in interest and engagement for Alpheus is Anaerobic Digestion – a process where microorganisms break down environmental waste in the absence of oxygen to produce biogas. This enables a waste stream to add value to operations by reducing reliance on carbon-heavy utilities.

“Anaerobic Digestion has been around for a very long time but has seen a surge in recent years to reduce operating costs and achieve increasingly tough sustainability goals. Despite some government backtracking on Net Zero targets, the continued growth in engagement from certain sectors proves that UK businesses will lead the charge to Net Zero by 2050, which is great to see.”

In addition to financial growth, the team has seen a twenty-nine per cent increase between 2022 and 2023, with active recruitment underway to provide gainful employment in remote areas of England, Scotland, and Wales, where the expert teams design, build, and operate new or existing sites.
